CP50 (MXI2) I/O Cable Assemblies

The Meritec CP50 (MXI-2) I/O line of cable assemblies and board mount products has been specifically designed for applications requiring cost-effective solutions to high pin density and demanding electrical specifications with shielding. The heart of this system is a Meritec patented contact, proven by many years of experience. This unique contact system allows for impedance matching, while at the same time, the low insertion force allows as many as 500 contacts per connector with less than 50 pounds of mating force. All connections are welded in an SPC controlled automatic "step and repeat" termination station.

The jacket and shield of the bundled cables are terminated in the backshells in a unique way to provide the highest reliability to both the strain relief and continuity of the shield. Meritec now offers a flexible bundled cable solution using a 30 awg bundled cable that terminates the same as our existing bundled cables. So not only are you getting the highest reliability to both the strain relief and continuity of the shield, but now you’re given more flexibility in routing these assemblies within the cabinet.

Computer programming for special machined configurations provides the only inexpensive quick turnaround method to allow running changes during your development program. For longer production requirements and additional cost savings, die cast backshells are used.

Exacting applications that may require special clockline lengths, skew tolerances, or ground bussing configurations can be easily accommodated.

This product is available with standard shielded jacketed cables of twisted pairs, 50 or 75 ohm coax, or 100 ohm parallel pairs in either 28 or 30 AWG primary conductors.

Meritec has developed a variety of right angle and vertical mount PWB connectors designed to mate with the Meritec CP50 (MXI2) cable assemblies. Available in both male and female genders, there are also various tail lengths designed to accommodate customized board thickness. See the attached product drawings and test reports for further information regarding Meritec’s CP50 (MXI2) Connectors. Consult the factory for price and delivery.
